TiX Clock
Help and user guide for the TiX Clock and Calendar app.
Getting started
TiX Clock begins displaying the current date and time when the app opens. To customise the display, tap the menu button at the bottom of the screen on your phone or tablet.
Understanding the display
The main display shows the date, followed by the day of the week, with the time in the middle of the screen.

In 12-hour mode, a half-filled circle appears near the time. The empty half is on the left for AM and on the right for PM.
The day, month, year, hours and minutes are displayed in TiX format, using groups of illuminated squares to represent the digits from 0 to 9.
Settings
The settings menu controls the app's appearance, date order, time format and learning mode.

Reading TiX numbers
Each digit is represented by a block of squares. Count the illuminated squares in a block to find the value of that digit. Squares that are not in use appear grey.
Reading the time
The time uses four blocks, read from left to right:
For example, if the four blocks contain one, two, three and zero illuminated squares, the displayed time is 12:30.
Reading the date
Use the same method for the date: work from left to right and count the illuminated squares in each block. The order of the day and month depends on the calendar format selected in Settings.
Why the squares move
The display updates every five seconds and randomly selects different squares within each block. The number of illuminated squares stays the same, so the value does not change; only their positions do.
Learning mode
Learning Mode shows the date and time in conventional numerals below the TiX display. This lets you compare the square patterns with the familiar values while learning how the system works.
Once you are comfortable reading TiX digits, switch Learning Mode off to show only the square-based display.
